The Story We Tell Ourselves
The struggle. All we are ever told and all we ever hear about is the human struggle. We fight for survival. We are grateful for scraps. We live to be small.
We believe life is hard. We tell ourselves we are the victims. We are at the mercy of others and of life. We feel like we need to catch up. We need to be better. That there is a race to win.
And if we’re not doing, trying, or becoming, we are not succeeding.
We constantly prove to others and to ourselves that we are not a failure. That we are happy. Perhaps tell ourselves that we are.
The will to be someone or something else is strong. And our belief that life is to be conquered is real.
But the reality is that there is no race. We are not running out of time. There is no such thing as failure. There is no right and wrong. There is only what feels true.
All we need to do is to breathe. Recognize our soul and let it be.
