Energy Hygiene
We are energetic beings living in an energetic world.
At the core of everything, we are all energy holding an energetic frequency, an energetic field, and an energetic influence. And we are constantly interacting as energy, with energy.
There is more to our bodies than what we physically perceive. Every person is an electrified whole human energy system. Life-force energy pulses through our entire being, radiating outward, and interacting with all other energies it comes into contact with. When energy is free to move, it is alive and dynamic. It brings health and radiance to a person. Things flow and things begin to align and combust. It says, I am energy, open for interaction, open for change and attraction. Energy is the life-force of our being. It is the life giver and life enabler. Without a conscious connection to our own energy, how can one ever really feel alive? One will never really know who they are, what they’re capable of, and what they’re really working with, until they become intimate with their own energy system and learn to understand its nuances.
Energy hygiene is the conscious cleaning, maintenance, and care for the energy in our form. It’s every person’s responsibility to clean and care for their own energy, just as they would clean and care for their own physical body. Cleaning energy is very much a higher spiritual endeavor, and requires higher perception, senses, and abilities to be turned on and cultivated. Learning to take control of one’s energy, their power source, is fundamental to greater self-mastery and spiritual development. Responsibility for cleaning and managing can extend to taking responsibility for what is ours, what we need to heal or tend to, what we need to let go of, how we use our energy, and what we interact with.
The exchange of energy in our world can be quite unconsciously messy and unintentional. Everyday, we are exchanging energy in our jobs, in our relationships, in our unconscious habits and behaviors. The consumption of media, TV, and content on the internet has little boundaries or standards, and people willingly soak up all sorts of questionable energy frequencies that clog up the energy system. We too have all sorts of energy held, stored, and generated within each human vessel. Much unprocessed energies absorbed externally, or not fully processed experiences and emotions of the past, or even energies generated from the unconcious operating system installed in the mind. It is why many experience symptoms of chronic mental noise and mental racing, with a million thoughts zooming in the mind. It’s one of the many symptoms of energetic chaos and misalignment in the human energy system.
When energy is free, unblocked, aligned and balanced—flowing naturally like a river—it leads to radiant health and well-being. No amount of consumer band-aid products and services can ever fix unbalanced, unaligned energy. Harmonious energy is the foundation to a good and healthy self and life.
What can energy hygiene look like?
Deep Cleaning:
Healing via Meditation
When energy is severely unbalanced and misaligned over decades of unconscious living, intensive healing and release is in order.
This asks the individual to tend to old wounds and to finish processing experiences and emotions that were never fully processed and released. It calls for a fall and wintering period of deep excavation of what is buried deep inside, allowing it to rise to the surface, and to begin feeling and re-living it all to begin the re-processing work. The individual needs to surrender to re-experiencing it to the end, without shutting it down, repressing, finding coping mechanisms, or trying to fix it. Emotional release is key for letting go a lot of the buried energy. This can take the form of allowing yourself to emotionally grieve over experiences of loss in the past, if one never allowed themselves to fully grieve and process it to begin with. Or this can also look like allowing yourself to fully express anger during times of disempowerment, violation, etc. It is not trivial to do this work, it is the most important work one can do for themselves as an adult. Much of it is the work we were never able to do for ourselves as a child, and even into adulthood, but at some point it must be done. The process will take as long as it takes.

I’ve developed energy meditation practices to clean and manage internal energy in the mind, body, and energy field. This requires energetic connection and abilities to do this work, and are for students with those sensory abilities.
Everyday Maintenance and Care:
Grounding
Grounding is a very basic and very foundational practice of life. Regularly reconnecting with our energetic self, and the energy of the Earth, reminds us of who we are, where we come from, and our unbreakable bond with nature. In taking time to feel that bond, we can gather great stability, support, connection, and nourishment when we need it.
Energy Movement
Moving your body can be a simple way of moving energy around to help unblock and clear it. This can look like inutitive body movements, dance, qi gong, tai chi, exercise, swimming, singing and vocal releases,
Nature
Immersing one’s self in nature is an easy way to help release and replenish energy. This can look like slow breathing walks in the forest, nature bathing, a leisurely hike in the mountains, a swim in a lake or the ocean.
Water
Water and salt can help clean external energy fields. You can do an ‘energetic cleanse’ in the ocean, or a crystal clear lake, or even a shower or bath with salts will do the trick.
Environment
Living and work environments are an extension of a person’s energy field. These environments both shape the energy of the individual, and well as the individual shapes the energy of the environment. Maintaining a clean, natural, and healthy living environment can motivate an indvidual to turn inwards to maintain a clean, natural, and healthy energetic environment within. Endeavor to resolve all conflict and make the necessary changes for your safety, health and wellbeing, and peace of mind. Clear out clutter and waste. All objects hold energy. Regularly clean the energy in your homes by burning incense, sage, or palo santo.
Discernment and Boundaries
Minimize the load of external energy influences, noise and waste by practicing clearer energy boundaries. This can take the form of prioritizing your needs, having greater awareness of what content you consume or the conversations you have. Everything is an energy exchange so be conscious of what those are.
