Preparing for Eclipse Season

Eclipse season 2026 is upon us as February has already been off to an intense energetic start, intiating an ongoing transformative process for the year. As of late, you may have noticed an energetic shift starting on February 1, coinciding with the Leo full moon, feeling more tired, slower paced, and perhaps even feeling a bit on the edge as we approach the eclipse window on Monday 9th and going into the peak of the solar eclipse in Aquarius on February 17th. Then transitioning into the lunar eclipse window in Virgo on March 3rd. With its energies lingering at least a full week after.

When preparing for an eclipse season, it’s important to consider two things: 1. making space and listening, and 2. rest and nourishment. Eclipse seasons are not the time for forceful action, doing, or manifestation. They are times to clear space. Space for stillness, silence, introspection, connection, reflection, and feeling and sensing of the enormous energies, and therefor intelligence, you may receive. It’s the download, the briefing, before the strategy, planning, and doing that comes later in the spring. If you’re too busy doing and running around during eclipse season, you will miss out on important intel that will inform you for the rest of the year.

Prep for eclipse season by getting everything in order (that you need in order now) prior to the 1 week before the eclipse peak date, in this case before February 10th. This can include getting your household in order, cleaning, food shopping, and any urgent things that must be done. You can liken eclipse season to preparing for a winter storm or a hurricane. Once it begins and peaks, it’s best to hunker down. Ensuring that your home spaces are clean and in good order, and your kitchen is well stocked with nutritious and energizing foods. You have cleared your schedule as much as possible, in this case, between the dates of February 10th to March 10th, 2026. This means making sure to not schedule any unnecessary appointments and reducing your work load. Clearing space allows for the unexpected to unfold.

When in the eclipse window, we will want to clear more space than usual for more sleep, rest, slower but regular eating and nourishment, daily cleaning and hygiene, water hydration, and most importantly, time to just be, listen, and receive (not force or think) whatever may come our way. Creating as much clean space, stillness, quiet and gentleness will make us more available and open to receive and listen. And if something calls you to act or seize the moment, you can trust its guidance now. However, if you refuse to clear space, slow down, and maintain a stressful busy and demanding schedule, eclipse season will only feel more stressful and challenging than it needs to be. Eclipse windows brings with it a charge of more energy, that can feel more intense and unsettling than usual. It’s a potent time that can be harnessed for some eyeopening learning, if open and available to it. So it’s best to be kind to ourselves and reduce demand while we integrate these passing energies.

This particular eclipse window will focus on the energies along the Aquarius-Leo axis, and its associated aspects of the larger astrological picture, and highlighting our own within our chart. Plenty of astrology information is available on the internet regarding this. But essentially, the energies of the Aquarius-Leo axis will pose themes and questions regarding our own individuality. Contemplate our own internal diversity, and perhaps the ways we’re called forth to express it and let it out. It may signal the ways we may feel different or ‘strange’ on the inside, and all the ways we realy desire to be seen for who we really are, not as we mirror and portray ourselves to be to others out of conditioning. We may see things more clearly, or things may become apparent that were not before. The sun illuminating the shadows of the moon. During the eclipse season, there is nothing necessarily for us to fix or solve or do, but rather, to see, realize, and contemplate. We may get a bunch of information, not really knowing what to do with it all. But right now, there’s nothing to do with it other than to let it marinate and stir. And as they do, they will inevitably stir changes within you, as you’re called forth to connect the dots and take small actions. So as we prepare for eclipse season, just take it all in and enjoy the show.
