I Close My Eyes
I’m laying in a field of grass and flowers, on a hill overlooking a valley. The sun shines brightly, casting a golden glow on all that lives. The wind gently breezes through, causing the blades of grass and wild flowers to sway. I’m nestled in nature’s bed, like a child cradled in the Earth. Nature holding me, always loving and present, in a way I long to be held with others. On the ground I dream as seeds are planted inside of me. And as I look up at the clear blue sky I watch wisps of clouds float by, admiring the shapes and ethereal nature of its movement. I feel eternal and mortal. Clouds turn like the hands of a clock, twisting the Earth around, as I watch it all go by. I lay comfortably in peace but yearn to fly. Soaring above the clouds breaking through its glass barrier. Admiring it all from above. Trapped in a beautiful Earth globe. I want to shake it and watch snow fall.
