La Cuevita is a sacred gathering place for people in the community. Here people deliver prayers and offerings at the Cave of the Virgin.
Teotitlán del Valle is well known for its active floor loom weaving community, where you can learn about the weaving tradition and purchase locally dyed and woven wool rugs. The majority of people maintain the traditions of their ancestors and are quite open about sharing their ways of living. The town is also an access point to hiking the Sierra Norte Mountain trails.
